Barney Frank and Gay Marriage.

We were married in CT "civil union" on Dec 21, 2006 and were proud to have the opportunity to do so. Barney Frank is right the marriage debate should be tabled for right now until we have the perfect mix of not only house, senate and president, but also of justices on the supreme court. We are not saying we do not wish to see this happen ASAP, but what we are staying instead is that since the day of the bust in NYC on the infamous Stonewall Club on June 27, 1969 only 39 years and some months have passed.

When fighting for the rights of Blacks not only to eliminate slavery but also gain the right to marry over 100 years had passed in that fight. In 1987 the last law banning blacks marriage to whites was over turned. As much as we know how hard it is to have patience in this time of instant gratification, it is important to remember that every good change takes time.

We have made great strides in this area, as the fight basically started in 1969 that faithful day at stonewall, and if anyone thinks that any of the folks involved in Stonewall could even envision the day when we could wed in any fashion be it civil union or marriage, we are here to tell you that they didn't. There were meetings later on in the 1970's where they speculated but all at the people at those meetings believed that it would happen after they were well to old to enjoy it or had already passed on.

Lets try to be cognizant of the struggle and stop complaining and work with the rights we do have to blossom them into full rights at the RIGHT time and space.

In other words, everyone that complains, why not volunteer for a gay rights organization and make a difference. This is the perfect time to even make a difference in the minds of the people you have in your daily lives. DO NOT argue with people, take the higher road and speak to their logic, get your facts in line before a conversation, show that we as GLBT people are equal in every way but laws that protect us as a couple.

The economy’s a mess, the prop 8 debate is in an uproar, but Hersband and Wife are back, bigger and better than ever.

Are you tired of all this bailout talk and CEO bonuses? When Obama won the election were you hopeful that marriage rights would be safe in California? Have you been disenfranchised by the establishment the way that it is. Are you mourning the death of a lesbian’s best friend on Sunday nights? (L-Word) Well so are Hersband and Wife! We are fed up with the way our country has been run for so many generations, having all GLBT people pay taxes at a higher rate than our straight counterparts, all the while the fat cats on Wall Street were flying under the radar and creating havoc with our economy at our expense. President Obama has been working feverishly to keep his campaign promises and in our eyes, that means that civil union is on the horizon across the United States and for the first time in history we as GLBT people have something to look forward to amongst all the darkness that is our countries financial crisis of the moment.

We decided to come back onto the scene after taking a much needed sabbatical to work on not only our relationship but also to understand the political scene. While we were gone, we noticed that many of our GLBT brothers and sisters were still having issues and did not have a reliable source to discuss them with. We have missed all of our fans immensely, and wanted to honor your belief and trust in us by coming back to what we love to do the most, helping people see the brightness through their own personal darkness. Our country is in a mess and because GLBT people are historically at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to being noticed for the problems they face not only in obtaining an employment position but also keeping one due to the prejudices revolving around their sexuality, and let’s not forget the lack of family support many of our GLBT brothers and sisters have to deal with daily. These are hard times and we need to stand strong and create a unified front to combat the issues we face just for being who we are.

So here we are, back again, stronger within ourselves and more knowledgeable than ever before. We are back not only to help in relationships but also to help our brothers and sisters weed through the red tape we all call life. There will be some changes as we are only two lezzies and we have children to raise, so rather than answer you personally about your issues we will gather many questions about the same subject and answer the subject rather than the reader because in many instances the same advice is given to each person who has the same issues going on. There will be times when we will pick a person to answer because their issue is unique and deserves personal attention. So don’t lose heart that we say we are moving more toward subject answers rather than personal ones. We will still read each and every one of your questions and do our best to point you in the right direction but from now on we will be grouping people together to get the information out there for everyone while still having time for our family. We have always prided ourselves in speaking the truth and straight from the heart, that part of us will not change nor will our humor.

Enough with the heavy stuff, this is the time when we all as a community need each other and desperately need a laugh as well. So help us help you, go to our website and write us from there, we await your emails. We would like to thank all of you that have never given up on us and those who continued to write us while we were gone. We will get to all the past mail, and be the voice we always strived to be, the one that is there for you in your time of need.

This is our time - to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth - that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:
